I first started learning how to make soap in 2020 during the first lockdown. It was a process that both fascinated and enchanted me, and before long I was also experimenting with making candles, perfumes and various bath and skincare products.
It was never intended to be a business, but friends increasingly started asking if they could purchase products, so, in early 2021 Pentland Aromatics was officially born. Six months after that, I took a bit of a leap of faith and quit my job to focus on it full time and see where it would take me.
Four years on, and my range of soap, skincare and home fragrance products has built up quite a following. I regularly attend markets, my products are stocked in several retail outlets and I also white label fragrance and toiletry products for other brands too.
I've used Avery from day one and wouldn't be without the design and print software. It enables me to cost-effectively manage the large range of products that I produce. The versatility to easily update the design work is priceless when running a small business and change is often frequent.
