Label & Sticker Pricing

Avery label and sticker prices depend on whether you print labels yourself or use Avery’s professional printing service.

  • Blank labels for self-printing: typically £5–£30 per order, depending on sheet quantity, label size and material.
  • Custom printed labels and stickers: typically £13–£80 for many small and medium orders, with larger roll-label or bulk orders often costing more.
  • Main price factors: quantity, size, material, format, finish and whether Avery prints the labels for you.

For the most accurate price, use the Avery pricing calculator to choose your label type, size, material, finish and quantity. The configurator shows the total order cost and cost per label before checkout.

This guide explains how our pricing works, shows real examples, and helps you estimate costs before ordering.

How custom printed label pricing works

The price of personalised labels and custom stickers is calculated based on multiple factors, these are:

  1. Size: Larger labels use more material and increase the cost per unit. Generally, the smaller the label size, the lower the cost-per-label.
  2. Material: Paper is usually the most affordable material, while premium options such as vinyl, holographic and pearlescent materials usually cost more because they offer a more durable or decorative finish.
  3. Finish: Selecting a finish such as a varnish to add gloss or matte, or lamination to add durability will impact the price you pay.
  4. Format: The format (sheet, roll, single sticker) combined with the quantity you require does influence the price due to the different production processes. Sheet labels are the most cost-effective for small to medium quantities. Roll labels are more economical for medium to large quantities. Stickers are generally more expensive as they require more production time.
  5. Quantity: Higher quantities reduce the cost per label. The more labels you order, the lower the cost per label.

How blank label pricing works

The price of blank labels is calculated in a similar way to personalised labels, but it works out cheaper as you're not paying for things like printing and finishing. So the things that impact cost are:

  1. Size: Larger labels use more material and increase the cost per unit. Generally, the smaller the label size, the lower the cost-per-label.
  2. Material: Paper is the most affordable material we offer (most popular), with more durable and premium materials like Clear Plastic, Heavy Duty and Waterproof White Plastic, etc., costing more.
  3. Quantity: We apply volume discounts, meaning higher quantities reduce the cost per label.

What affects label and sticker prices?

Whether you choose Blank Labels (YouPrint) or Custom Printed Labels (WePrint), the same core factors apply.

Quantity

Larger quantities reduce the cost per label. Always look at the cost per label - not just the total cost.

  • Small runs are ideal for testing (great for small batches and seasonal products)
  • Bulk orders give better value over time (great if your design or use won't change)

Material

Materials are designed for different environments. Paper labels are the most common and most economical, with filmic materials like plastics and vinyl's being far more expensive to produce.

  • Paper labels: cost-effective, ideal for dry use
  • Filmic labels such as Plastic, Vinyl and Holographic: more durable, higher cost
  • Specialist materials such as Kraft, Textured White: premium look or performance

Size and shape

The more material used, the higher the cost. Look to use the smallest label size you can to reduce the overall cost.

  • Standard sizes are more efficient
  • Custom shapes offer flexibility but may increase cost

Finish and durability

How your labels look and perform matters. Really think about where your label is used and how long it needs to last. If it's being touched multiple times, you may need a finish.

  • Choosing no finish keeps costs lower, but may not provide the protection needed for labels that are handled often or exposed to moisture.
  • Premium finishes add durability and visual impact
  • Varnishes add a gloss or matt coating to your labels - to make it more impactful
  • Lamination adds a layer to protect your label, making it much more durable and waterproof.

How to reduce label and sticker costs

If you’re working to a budget, a few simple choices can make a big difference.

  • Choose blank sheets to keep costs down and print yourself on demand - great for flexibility.
  • Order larger quantities of personalised labels with We Print to reduce unit cost - the more you order, the cheaper it gets
  • Reduce to the smallest label size possible, where you can - this means you get the most amount of labels per sheet - so the cost per label reduces.
  • Select materials based on actual use, not just appearance - Paper is the cheapest and suitable for many applications.
  • Keep finishes simple if durability isn’t essential - only add lamination if there is a need to add durability, or add varnish if you want a glossy or matt finish, but want to keep costs lower.
