Custom cut-outs can give your stickers a unique and artistic touch. They also provide a practical space to label uneven objects. Whether you require straightforward cut-outs or intricate patterns, our state-of-the-art cutting technology is equipped to manage it.
How to make stickers with custom cut-outs
We are capable of crafting nearly any custom cutline for your stickers, including cutting out areas within the sticker itself. To ensure we accurately interpret your design, please follow our guide to include your custom cutline in your artwork. This allows us to differentiate the cutline from the design and apply it with precision.

1. Open artwork in Adobe Illustrator
You will need to use Adobe Illustrator to add your cut-out cutline.
For this example, we're creating a round sticker with an inner cut line, which gives us a doughnut shape.

2. Create a new swatch
Create a new 'Swatch' spot color and name it 'Stanze'. Assign this 'Stanze' to your cutline.
3. Save as a PDF
Save your design file as a print-ready PDF.
4. Order your stickers
Go to our Custom Printing > sheet labels page and use our configurator to choose your desired sticker.
Select Sheets* format followed by the shape for your stickers. We're using a round 80mm sticker, but you could choose any standard shape except Custom shape*.
*Please note this function is only available on our sheet format and standard shapes.
5. Choose your options
Select your material, finish & quantity.
For extra peace of mind, we offer an artwork check service. For an additional fee, our team checks your design for any potential artwork errors.
6. Enter the upload tool
Click 'Start Designing' and select the 'Create' function
7. Upload your design
Use the Add Image button to upload your design.
Scale artwork as required, making sure you cover the sticker background so that the artwork meets the blue bleed line.
Follow the 'Next' button.
8. Check your design
The print preview page allows you to check your design for spelling errors and to download a Digital Print Proof.
Click Add to basket and you're done.
