Here’s seven ideas from Avery which may help take away some of the strain and save you time.

1. It’s difficult to know how much product to take with you and the last thing you want to do is have lots of waste, especially if you are a food producer. Make sure you research the show in advance and talk to those who have been before. Find out the footfall and make sure you have enough so you don’t run out. There’s nothing worse than an empty looking stall and visitors will want to have plenty of choice.

2. Create a box full of all the office supplies you will need and ensure this is well stocked before an event. Things you may need are calculator, pens, cash box and change, notepad, receipt pad, packaging and business cards. If you are taking card payments. you will also need to sort a machine or other method for taking card payments. You may need to check signal in advance to process these.

3. Also consider what large items you need and discuss with the event organiser what’s supplied. You may need to take signs or roller banners, tablecloths and chairs. Remember you need enough stock for you to do a table display with additional products for selling so you aren’t constantly having to replenish your display.

4. Producing all your marketing materials can take a lot of time. We’ve created design software which allows you to create a design and then apply it to other products. For example. you could use your company logo to create round labels for packaging seals and then add this to a business card design for encouraging repeat purchases. You can either buy your own labels and design on Avery Design and Print or use our WePrint service where you design the products and we print them for you.

5. Plan your clothes accordingly. Sometimes show marquees and halls can either be very warm or cold so make sure you dress accordingly. Keep an eye on the weather forecast as this may affect the temperature and we highly recommend wearing flat shoes.

6. Think about your company branding and ensure you aren’t missing a selling opportunity. On Avery WePrint you could create a personalised binder for all your documentation as well as laptop and phone skins with the company branding. Business cards with your website address are useful for popping in to bags with a purchase on to encourage customers of where they can next buy. Customised labels also make really professional looking additions to bags or tissue paper. On Avery WePrint you create the design and we’ll send the printed labels to you within 3 to 5 working days. You could even personalise these for each show for a really nice reminder.

7. Finally make sure you take plenty of food and drink supplies as they days can be long with little chance to take a break from your stand. If you make items that you can do at the show why not take some with you. Not only will it give you something to do during the quiet spells, visitors often like to watch crafts being made and it adds authenticity.
