Branding your new venture- client diaries

I have been crafting and making things for as long as I can remember and I have recently started up a small business of creating bespoke gifts for all occasions. My Business includes glittering items such as bottles of alcohol, glasses and jars. I have promoted my business on Facebook and Instagram and had quite a few orders over the Christmas period.

Because I am quite busy now, I wanted some small business cards that I could give my customers should they decide to pass my information on. I wanted something very specific that I could put in mini square envelopes, just to be different. I also wanted some mini stickers that I could use for branding and stick on the front of the envelopes.

I did not want to buy massive quantities because I have just started my business and am still not sure how successful it will be. I chose Avery WePrint as they offered low minimum order quantities and had good reviews online. I knew that they did square business cards which would fit perfectly in my mini envelopes. I started the design process by selecting double sided square business cards which was exactly what I wanted.

The design tool was very easy to use and straight forward for a beginner like me. The size I wanted was quite small so I knew that the writing needed to be reasonably big to be able to be seen. I added my background and made sure I had a bleed line just in case! I then added my text using the text boxes in the tool bar. When I was happy with my business cards I moved on to my mini labels.

I made all of my final amends and ordered the minimum quantity, which were 100 business cards and 540 small round labels. This worked well for me as I didn’t want to order more than this and fitted in with my budget.

The shipping was reasonable and I received my order in no time. I absolutely loved the final product and so did my customers!
